Financial
Flower Preservation is a large commitment from both of our sides in more ways than one. It is a financial undertaking from your end, but also from ours. Resin is one of the most expensive mediums on the market, and I use the highest quality available to ensure the longevity and pristine appearance of your 100% handmade custom, irreplaceable artwork. Silica crystals and flower presses are also among some of the top costs for us. The basic necessities for day to day operations range from those previously mentioned, as well as everyday PPE, hundreds of small scale tools and materials, hardware/power tools, sanding materials, shipping materials, online expenses, marketing, SEO, accounting, and also the top frame and tray options available. Time is money, and time is something that cannot ever be bought back. Flower preservation takes such a long time because simply put, it takes a LONG time, and most of my work days are at least 10-12 hours long. You get what you pay for, and your investment is because I am an expert in my field. You wouldn't hire a friend who loves Grey's Anatomy to perform open heart surgery, so this is NOT a DIY project or one to hand off to a friend with minimal to no resin experience. I've received so many "oops" attempts at preservation pieces that even I haven't been able to fix. You only get one shot with your original wedding flowers!
To some, flower preservation may seem like a "price gouge" but it truly is nothing of the sort. We're essentially flower taxidermists working with incredibly sentimental and fragile materials, and it is very high pressure.

Processing
Processing your flowers is the first step and one of the most important. The way your flowers go into drying is the way they come out if they're preparing for resin by going in the silica crystals. It is imperative that they are dried with the crystals in between petals and covering all sides. Please look at the color guide to see how the colors may change upon coming out of drying (which takes weeks) or when going into resin.
Processing flowers also means that we need to know which items you want before we can do this. I want your flowers as fresh as possible so we can get you the best results. In order for you to get the best results, decide upon your pieces before I get the flowers! If your flowers aren't in their best condition and are falling apart, this can add hours onto the processing time, because they have to be reconstructed, rehydrated, or replaced. Processing can take over an hour depending on the items you have chosen. I can receive up to 15 bouquets in a day.

Creating
The skillset required for this type of profession is few and far between to find. This is why it's sometimes not so easy to find a local artist! Most floral preservation artists have been working with resin many, many years. I personally have been working with it for over 7 years. It takes quite a bit of creative energy, and I cannot stress enough the importance of my clients knowing that it CANNOT be rushed. I have many friends all over the country, and all over the world who are floral preservation artists and we all say the same thing. The number one killer of creativity and also the number one thing that makes us make silly mistakes is when we feel rushed. When mistakes happen, 99% of them can be fixed, but it ends up making us take far more time.
I know it can be such a long process and its so hard to wait. I want you to receive your pieces just as much as you do. I promise you that no one gets skipped, and everyone's preservations are just as important to me as the next. If you don't receive an update, it's really just because I do not have one at the moment. I try to refrain from even letting people know when I begin, because unless you are a floral preservation artist yourself, that probably means you think we will be done in a week or so. A lot of pieces have so many layers, and only one layer can be done in a day, or even 2 days.
Molds are very expensive, the larger ones being in the $400 range. If you have one of the more popular items thats mold is in constant use, your pieces may take a little longer as well.
The more items you purchase, the longer it will take as well. Same with the size of the items. If you order 30 coasters, it does take longer than one tray mold and a ring holder, and so on.

Respect
As a sole small business owner, I like my clients to feel comfortable with me, and like a friendly artist that can make your wildest dreams come true.
With respect to you, I work around the clock to get you your preservations in a timely manner. With that said, I do respect your time and hours of the day. Please remember that I am a real person, and try to text or call me within working hours and not on holidays. I have had calls/texts at 8am on Christmas morning, and Thanksgiving at 6pm. Please treat me as you would any one else that you conduct business with!
Life has especially gotten in the way for me as of this last year with health concerns and a big move. This has unfortunately extended my turnaround estimates for my clients. I do not like to offer turnaround times because so many things can come up that are just completely unexpected.
Just know that I am doing my very best for you over here. I try to keep most orders under 3 months, but this is also always just an estimate.

Payments
Flower Preservation is a luxury, plain and simple. It's understandable that it can be financially daunting, but I do have some insight and tips for you.
This is most likely a once in a lifetime moment for you! Don't be afraid or be shy to ask your family members-whether its directly or through a registry-to contribute to your floral preservation fund! If you're like me, it's hard to ask for things or help, but this is something that your family and friends would jump at the opportunity for!
If you would like your payment split in half, please feel free to ask me for that option. Payment must be made within the same month.
From past instances, I typically require payment in full. I won't actually start your pieces until I receive full payment, because it is too much of a cost (monetarily and of my time) on my end.
First paid, first made is a loose rule I go off of. If I receive your flowers but you haven't paid for two months, you don't go into the actual order queue for two months. So my advice is to just pay as quickly as you can, so other orders don't surpass yours in the queue!
